How to Run a Charity  Casino

Aces Fun Casinos have helped raise many thousands of pounds for worthwhile causes over the years. We are honoured to be asked to help raise money with our fun casino tables in a few weeks time. Points to Keep in Mind

  • First and foremost the event can’t possibly be a success without the ‘bums on seats’. Whatever it takes to advertise the charity casino event – via friends and family, business contacts, advertising within and without your immediate circle. Social media is of course a great way to get the message across.
  • The aim of the game is to raise money of course. However it’s also, in most cases including this one. a way to bring members together in a social setting. A fun casino is a great way to do this.
  • There are a few ways to raise money on a charity casino. In some cases it will depend on how big the event is going to be. With good connections in the business world, the casino tables could be sponsored. Generous donors can have their businesses advertised on the casino tables. The entry price can be aimed at covering the cost of the entertainment plus profit for the charity.

On the night then, guests are given free money to exchange for chips. They play for fun and the highest roller gets a prize at the end. However, by far the most effective way is to keep the ticket price low to encourage more participants. On the night the fun money is sold for a pre-determined sum. We recommend £10.00 for each note sold. Again, at the end of the night the highest roller gets a prize.

And Finally…

On the night there are ‘do’s’ and ‘don’ts. The biggest ‘don’t I can offer is don’t give away chips thinking that people will buy more when they’ve run out. Initially the charity casino tables will be full of guests playing with their free money and not all of them will lose! A lot of people, however good intentioned, will decide their luck isn’t with them and stop. All the best wedding venues will offer deals for the night before the Big Day and it’s such a good idea as everyone can get acquainted with the venue as well as each other. Because it’s not ‘ The Big Day’, there is a lot less pressure on everyone. Wedding outfits can stay on their hangers, no one need to worry about timings – they can just go with the flow. Indeed that’s how it was at Crowcombe Court. After a welcome glass of bubbly, guests sat down to a good old fashioned fish and chip supper (mushy peas and curry sauce optional). After that they descended to the vaults where the casino was ready and waiting.

There was a stand out difference between a wedding fun casino (we’ve done hundreds) and a pre-wedding fun casino. Because the bride and groom didn’t have the spotlight on them as much, they were able to enjoy a flutter themselves. Our couple played on every table. Our Groom tried so hard to win a bet but to be honest, all his luck was on marrying his beautiful bride.

The luck of the Draw

Luck is a strange thing. Our games are all about luck. There is some strategy but I always say, my gambling advice isn’t guaranteed to make you win, but it’ll help you lose more slowly. These two likely lads thought by clubbing together they could break the bank…

No such luck as the canny lady from Scotland cleaned up with a $500 bet on a corner  winning her $4000. Here she is being presented her prize by our Bride and Groom. Looks like she built up quite a thirst.

Fun Casino 25 Years in Business ‘My Golden Nugget’ by June Howley

Looking back beyond my 25 years in business. Remembering the first moment I saw a group of very attractive female croupiers swish past the reception of the Golden Nugget Casino, London. Most were carrying evening gowns. I wondered what on earth they were going to be doing – and whether I might join them. I was ‘temping’ on their reception and switchboard that evening. Many years later and having spent most of my working life behind a gaming table I still love the games, the atmosphere and the people I’ve met and known in the gaming industry.

Becoming a croupier was my passport to travel. It gave me opportunities to travel and work in some ‘far-flung’ places. Some I’d never even heard of till I got there. Gabon for example, a country tucked into the west coast of Africa, just on the equator. It was handy for malaria whilst there and Pointless questions  ever since. A few years after I’d come out of the business I found I missed it so much I started my own own fun casino business. That was 25 years ago – I’m still passionate about what I do. I still take a pride in how we go about supplying the very best in party entertainment.

James Bond Party Hire

After a brilliant night of horse, dog, camel and #wackyracing with Stihl sales and marketing we are now looking forward to a busy Saturday night of  #casinofun in Bristol and Bath.
