Planning A Summer Ball or Prom Night

Have you been thrown in at the deep end and need a little help with planning a Summer Ball or Student Prom Night? Our handy 10 point guide takes you through some of the planning processes and hopefully guide will go some way to helping you organise, advertise, fund and run an excellent event.

1. The Team – The most important factor in making your Ball go well and the organisation go smoothly is to choose a team that can work well together. Assign roles and open up an email trail with your selected members, ensure everyone is on board with the different responsibililities and allow people to have confidence to handle big things such as budget and venue choice.

2. The Theme – Want to make your event fun, distinctive and memorable? Aces Fun Casinos hold stock of Las Vegas themed banners which ensure the casino area stands out. We also offer James Bond 007 Casino Royale themed fun casino nights.

3. The Money – Budgeting is never easy, especially when you’ve no idea how much anything costs. Agree on a budget range, with a ceiling level and break it down into sections. 4. The Venue – Start by figuring out the attendance numbers and Google search for venues with this capacity. 5. The Food – Often the venue will offer food as part of the package, other times external catering companies will need to be researched. For outside occasions whereby a marquee is required you can consider a Hog Roast, or even a BBQ setup. For inside events you’ll need to decide whether a hot sit down meal is viable as opposed to a finger buffet.

8. The Tickets – Are you having tickets printed? Do you have artwork ready or do you need a talented logo designer to do this for you and organise printing all at once? We work with UK Web Promotions in Somerset and are happy to recommend their services.

9. The Night – Well done you made it! Finally the date had arrived. If the event is ticketed you’ll need to organise people to meet and greet on the door and collect tickets and to deter unwanted gatecrashers.

10. The Checklist and Legalities:

Bristol Packet Boats – Kingston Barnes Jolly

A fun casino cruise? What a perfect way to spend a summer afternoon on a riverboat cruise. A friendly crowd of people – good company in more ways than one. You see, their hard work really paid off as these guys more than met their target and were awarded a ‘jolly’. That was an afternoon with Aces on a fun casino cruise. What a nice Boss! Guests seemed to enjoy the unique to Aces Blackjack Schnapps Challenge Prize – or punishment, (depending on whether you liked the taste of it or not)  for getting a blackjack hand was to down a shot of schapps – as one guest is bravely demonstrating. They were allowed to nominate if driving home but not many chose to do that! The fun casino cruise was, as you might imagine, rather lively.

The roulette game was just as exciting, even if a lot of the guests had to rely on payday loans and loyalty bonuses to get through the afternoon. With such a small party we could afford to be generous and allowed them in turn to experience big value games. Our croupiers were delighted to show them a few neat tricks and strategies to ‘maximise their winning potential’.

When the ball dropped in a good number – they voiced their approval!! We had one very lucky player, almost destined to take home the champagne but all in all, everyone, staff and players had a great afternoon.

Personalised Fun Money, Photo and Event Date

Here at Aces Fun Casinos we are very used to talking through the part of the day we’ll be helping to entertain the guests. The last thing we want to do is add stress to an already stressful situation therefore we are careful to hear what our brides are saying – how they ‘see’ the casino. We’ll create their own unique fun money, their photo, names and wedding date printed on a note for each guest.

We will arrive at least an hour before we are due to open – even earlier if necessary. We’ll make sure the casino is up and ready to open at whatever time our couple decide. We will hand out the fun money, open the casino and at the end we’ll even provide a nice bottle of bubbly for the highest roller before discreetly dismantling and removing our kit.

Sometimes we are asked the dimensions of our tables – one of our brides to be recently requested we visit her proposed venue before she made up her mind. Now usually, in my experience, people planning their weddings will have exacting criteria – some of which are mentioned above but this lovely lady – or her partner to be more precise, was basing his decision on whether there would be enough room to fit three of our casino tables in! It was and what a great rehearsal it became for their honeymoon in – guess where? Las Vegas – where else!
